A little inspriation...

Honestly this post is inspired by the fortune cookie I had last night.
No judging because it was actually a pretty legit "fortune"
Said fortune left me feeling pretty inspired.
There are moments in my life that I don't really realize that I am lacking inspiration or motivation.
I suppose those are the moments when I am just going through the movements.
But I can't deny that feeling in my heart but I read words that jolt me back to life a little bit.

Tuesday Topics: 9 pictures

Life. Love.Lauren
One of the favorite things about social media is the chance to document a growing relationship.
When I started to write this post I first went to Facebook to find the pictures I wanted to use and quickly noticed that Kev and I have other a thousand pictures. The first being ones of us before we even started dating! If you had the opportunity to go through my Facebook you would get to witness a whole series of Kev and I's growing relationship over the last 7 years. I absolutely love that. I love getting to look back at what we use to be like and what steps we have gone through to get here, now.  After looking through them all I can definitely tell you that there is no one else in this world that I'd want to look back and share that journey with.
I wish I could show you all our pictures, but this only calls for 9.
And I won't lie, I actually found it pretty difficult to find 9 pictures that I haven't already used.
That being said I have already used a couple of these, but I just love the picture enough to show it off again.

The summer we started dating.

Kentucky Derby, I believe 2008...can't remember

  Dolphins game!

Our wedding rehearsal dinner.

An engagement picture

Our house warming party in 2009!

Dinner out in Miami

Gotta have a wedding pic!

I believe out of all the pictures this is one of my favorites, because it's us in a nutshell.
Always bugging Kev, but he is always there for me to hold onto.

I love this guy so much, we always have so much fun, and our pictures reflect that.
I really should start taking more...

What are some of your favorite pictures with your significant other?
Link up & share.

Happy Tuesday!

Cheers to 21 Years Giveaway!

+5 for this lady, but those aren't the 21 years we are celebrating here...
My girl, Shane turned 21 earlier this month and what better way to share her birthday than with a giveaway for you guys!

To be 21 again...
My 21st birthday was a blast, at least the beginning because that's about all I remember.
My friends were planning a party for me, so I knew I should be expecting something pretty good.
I even had my suspicious on what they were going to do, but a little trick of theirs threw me off and I ended up being completely caught off guard.
I should have known better because my suspicious became fact, when JD the stripper walked into the room!
No, I am not kidding, but to be honest it was a lot of fun.
He put on quite the, umm, show but none of us could take it seriously and were laughing the entire time.
Afterwards they took me out to the bar where Kev and some other guys friends were waiting.
This part is when everything really becomes a blur.
I took entirely to many shots and proceeded to call my parents at about 1AM, and worry about my "business shoes" the whole night.
Apparently I was quite funny though so that's always a good thing!

Now moving on to the good stuff, and a word from Shane :)

The Nail Files: Wednesday & Paris

Linking up with Tara for The Nail Files, and this one is going to be short and sweet.

Thanks to the Zoya Earth Day exchange I had some new colors I wanted to try out and I did just that.
Like most of the population I am really loving the color mint right now so I knew I'd love Wednesday, and surprise, I really, really do!
Anymore I don't really feel right not having some kind of glitter going on and I'd recently gotten Paris through an add-on deal for my Julep Maven box so I figured what the heck, I'll try it out.
  {Buy them here: Paris by Julep & Wednesday by Zoya}

I don't think this combo is one of my favorites, but I really like the colors separately.
What do you guys think?

Happy Friday & have a good weekend!

For my husband

For no particular reason I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you.
There has been so much going on lately and you have been a rock, for me and everyone that has needed you.
I think back over the last few months forever and I become in awe of you.
You are always there for people when they need you, literally always.
You take care of me, and I know I don't make it easy for you (can I help that I'm a moody person?!).
Lately I've been thinking about it all and it brings tears to my eyes how strong you are, and how lucky I am to have you.
What is amazing is that most people who have been through the things you've been through would be the exact opposite.
You've had some rough times in life, you are in stressful situations most of the time, and you are married to me.
You could complain, hell even give up, but you don't and that alone says something.
Your loyalty is steadfast and your heart is so big and full of love for those your care about.
There is no one else in the world that is quite like you and when I think about you I can't help but smile, because I know you're mine.

ps - if you haven't heard this song you really must listen!
It's one of my favorites! Genius can actually be genius sometimes.

Happy Thursday!

OHP: A Style Icon - Princess Kate

In hopes to keep a promise to myself I've been really trying to figure out who my style icons are.
It's actually been easier for me to realize who are not my style icons but I've come across a few celebs that I wouldn't mind raiding their closets.

The first being Princess Kate!

Ever since the royal wedding business I have been keeping my eye on her, and I have yet to really see any outfit that I don't really like. Her outfits always look so great on her, and I've been able to find some inspiration to work with my own closest items. I love that her style seems to be quite simple, but very chic.
This is what I feel like I try to aim for most of the time.
Not only do I love the style she has but I always seem to love the colors and patterns too. It's never to crazy but always eye catching.
Ok, maybe that is because she is gorgeous too but that is beside point.

I seriously wish I could take all of these outfits and just stick them in my closest.
She is always so well put together, and elegant!

Who are some of your style icons?

Happy Wednesday!

Happiness List

I decided to join the fun and link up with Jenni for her "Blog Everyday in May" challenge.

For the last couple of days I've been a bit grumpy and when I saw today's topic was about happiness I thought it'd be a nice reminder for myself that  I have a whole bunch of things to be happy about.
Day 14 Topic: Ten things that make you really happy

1) Kevin, of course.
He makes me the happiest in the whole world!

2) Snuggling with my mutt man, Gunner.
I've come to find unmeasurable comfort in feeling the weight of my 70+ pound dog squeezing in as close as possible to me

3) My friends & family.
These people have given me a truly blessed life.
I can't be anything but happy when I think about them.

4) Anything Harry Potter.
From the beginning this series has drawn me in and taken me to the creative areas of my mind.
Growing up with Harry & the gang actually taught me things, and inspired me to be adventurous, stand up for myself, be who I am and learn from it.

5) Food!
Super generic I know, but I can't really think of many foods that I won't smile about when I've taken a bite.
Plus I'm blessed to have a hot meal, everyday, at every meal time.

6) Adventures/Traveling
Anything that broadens my life, thoughts, overall world  makes me feel like a better person and in turn I am happy.

7) Hiking with Kev.
This ties into doing something new, but we've also gotten to go to really beautiful places.
The absolute beauty of nature just overwhelms me but it's a wonderful feeling taking it all in.

8) Outdoor concerts/jamming out in the car with the windows down.
Losing yourself in a song by a good artist while feeling the wind and sun on your skin is one of the best happy feelings ever.

9) Thunderstorms.
The smell, the sound, the renewal.
Nothing else like it.

10) Adrenaline rushes.
Now I'm not extreme sports person or anything, but I've realized that anything gets my heart pounding also gets me smiling!
Skydiving, roller coasters, zipling, etc...it's all great!

What makes you happy?

Happy Tuesday!

Cedar Point & Mother's Day weekend

This weekend was a pretty great one.
Minus the fact that it went entirely to quickly!

On Friday and Saturday, Kev and I headed up to Cedar Point with a couple of our friends Scott and Jordan who had hooked us up with quite the deal.

Friday was an OSU alumni day, and I'll just say that we completely lucked out with the weather and had a great time.
The park was only open to OSU alumni and their friends and family.
I was pretty sure there would be quite a few people there since OSU is a big school and lots of people who went there still live in the state, but it wasn't busy at all!
The longest line was 20 minutes long, and that was for the brand new ride, GateKeeper!

Needless to say we definitely felt spoiled and going back the following day, which was also opening day, was rough because the lines and amount of people were now huge!
It was also freezing, so we did not stay long that day.
Honestly, we stayed long enough for Kev and Scott to ride the Gate Keeper one more time thanks to the ticket Scott won on Friday.
The ticket took them literally to the very front of a four and half hour waiting line.
Did I mention the four and half hour waiting line had formed in the 20 minutes the park was open?
Crazy right!? I'd really hate to hear how long people ended up waiting by the middle of the afternoon!

Since Saturday was a bit chilly Jason and Danielle hosted a bonfire and we played a couple board games.
If you guys have never played The Game of Things you really need too, it's hilarious!

With Sunday being Mother's Day Kev and I headed down to take his mom and sister out to eat.
It was nice to get to spend some time with them, and get a chance to relax a bit.
I didn't get to see my mom on Mother's Day so I showed some love via social media by sharing this gem on Instagram (follow me: here)
Mom and me :)
She's about my age here, and I can only hope to be as great of a mother as she is someday :)
The rest of the evening was spent chillin' and watching Game of Thrones.
I really can't get enough of that show. So good.

How was your Mother's Day weekend?

Happy Monday!
