Happy Martin Luther King Day!
What an incredible man, and I have no doubt he's one of the best people who has ever walked this Earth.
At the age of 35, MLK became the youngest person to have ever received the Nobel Peace Prize. To top it off he gave his entire, $54,123 prize to the civil rights movement.
January 20th, 1986 was the first national celebration of King's birthday as a holiday. All 50 states recognize the date in honor of MLK.
He became the first ever black American to be honored as Time Magazine's: Man of the Year.
In a time span of 11 years (1957 - 1968) King traveled more then six
million miles, spoke more then 2,500 times, was arrested more then 20
times, had been assaulted at least 4 times, was awarded 5 honorary
degrees, and gave his "I have a Dream" speech in front of 250,000
people in DC. Those are just the things we know about :)
